Like you, we are clinicians who noticed that private practice often felt isolating and overwhelming - we had no peers for support, and suddenly had to draft client invoices, collect payments, manage a business on top of our sessions. Consultation Support

For clinicians in private practice, working with a consultation team of trusted peers is something people say they miss the most. We offer regular and ongoing consultation services to help our members stay connected and with experienced clinical case support, particularly for difficult, challenging or specialized cases.

Our team will get you credentialed with the major health insurance panels quickly and efficiently.
This service includes a clinician-level EHR account with access to a library of attorney-vetted disclosures, consent documents, forms, and assessments loaded and ready to go.
We will provide timely and accurate billing, reducing the hassle and stress of managing payments.

Before you join.

How does the collective work?

You join the Mind X Associates therapist ecosystem, connect with other professionals, and decide what support—if any—you want to add. Services are offered à la carte rather than as one required package.

What are the benefits?

If you’re already working in a W-2/1099 environment, we can significantly increase your income while providing the same administrative and clinical support. In addition, you’ll have total freedom over your practice - where you work, who you work with, and what your session rate is.

If you’re looking to start your private practice (even part-time) we can provide everything you need to get started. We’ll answer questions and provide advice - from filing paperwork to finding new clients.

Regardless of your current situation, we can increase your income, reduce your stress, and provide the freedom to work where you want, how you want.

Can I work another job?

Yes. Our associate clinicians often work full-time jobs elsewhere and join our collective to increase their income, broaden their knowledge base, and expand their professional network.

Can I work anywhere?

Yes! You can work anywhere your license allows, both virtually and in-person.

What types of mental health professionals can join?

Mind X Associates works with professionals from varied disciplines and license types, including social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and related mental health professionals. Students may also apply to the Professional Community, although space is limited.

Am I allowed to work in a private practice as an LMSW, AMFT, etc.?

Yes! You can work in a private practice setting with some state-dependent restrictions. There are no requirements for you to be underpaid or working for a large hospital system, and you are allowed to have input into your clients, treatment modalities, and experience gained through your prelicensure period.

Do you provide supervision directly?

Supervision is provided by qualified supervisors affiliated with the collective, with administrative support from Mind X Associates. Availability and eligibility depend on the supervisor, license type, and jurisdiction.

Why do you offer this?

We’re clinicians, and we’ve been exactly where you are - excited about graduating, working on our hours, learning as much as we can - but struggling to make ends meet. With low starting salaries, we found some places wouldn’t even hire us until we obtained full licensure. Even worse, some employers offer such limited training and experience that our options are limited even after we’ve gotten licensed. We want to provide opportunities for varied experience, better education, and help new therapists get a head start on their careers.

What does it cost to join?

It is free to join Mind X Associates and apply to our Professional Community. You are not required to purchase any additional service.

Optional services—including clinical supervision, practice consultation, Therapist Directory upgrades, and the Clinician OS—have their own pricing structures. The Collaborative Knowledge Studio is free for creators offering free educational programs and uses a platform-fee model for paid offerings.
